Forefoot running will work for you and I am sure of this because this is how the pro’s run. I’m not talking about sprinters because we all know that to sprint, you need to land forefooted. I am talking about elite distance runners who run forefoot to run smarter, not harder. The real take home message here is that these runners don’t reach success with poor mechanics.
Alberto Salazar has coached several high caliber runners and is currently coaching Mo Farah and Galen Rupp; both runners use forefoot running as part of their core strategy to run with high efficiency.
Below are my articles on what Alberto Salazar thinks about forefoot running and how Gupp and Farah use the forefoot running technique to rock their running performance.
How to Be a Good Distance Runner – Alberto discusses how distance runners should adopt similar foot strike and leg swing mechanics as sprinters.

BSc Neurobiology; MSc Biomechanics candidate, ultra minimalist runner & founder of RunForefoot. I was a heel striker, always injured. I was inspired by the great Tirunesh Dibaba to try forefoot running. Now, I'm injury free. This is why I launched Run Forefoot, to advocate the health & performance benefits of forefoot running and to raise awareness on the dangers of heel striking, because the world needs to know.
