Forefoot Running Benefits

I do say this, forefoot running (shown below) is a performance advantage that brings in more time to train and less time for muscle recovery. By it’s very nature, forefoot running results in less impact than heel strike running, and there are ample of evidence in agreement that runners will continue to injure if they continue to heel strike when they run.

Forefoot Running Benefits

Forefoot running is unbelievably safer on the body than heel strike running, and most world-class runners are forefoot runners, too! Why? Probably because the benefits of forefoot running  outweigh the benefits of heel strike running as limited data has supported the possibility of any protective effects related to heel strike running.

However, the major benefits of forefoot running involve less impact production which may allow runners of all sizes to run safely on any surface.

"I believe the forefoot strike is the engine of endurance running..."

BSc Neurobiology; MSc Biomechanics candidate, ultra minimalist runner & founder of RunForefoot. I was a heel striker, always injured. I was inspired by the great Tirunesh Dibaba to try forefoot running. Now, I'm injury free. This is why I launched Run Forefoot, to advocate the health & performance benefits of forefoot running and to raise awareness on the dangers of heel striking, because the world needs to know.
