Is it Better to Run on Your Forefoot?

Is it Better to Run on Your Forefoot?

Based on scientific reasons proved true beyond any doubt, it is significantly better to run on your forefoot because for one, it naturally increases cadence, or step-rate. This means that forefoot striking when running results in a contact with the ground that’s so brief that certain impact variables are not fully produced or even produced at all! Secondly, forefoot running makes more efficient use of the arch and the Achilles, enabling them to store more energy-saving elastic power; the more elastic-powered your stride is, the less muscular effort is needed to move the body forward. Read more here on why forefoot running is better than heel strike running in every way.

"I believe the forefoot strike is the engine of endurance running..."

BSc Neurobiology; MSc Biomechanics candidate, ultra minimalist runner & founder of RunForefoot. I was a heel striker, always injured. I was inspired by the great Tirunesh Dibaba to try forefoot running. Now, I'm injury free. This is why I launched Run Forefoot, to advocate the health & performance benefits of forefoot running and to raise awareness on the dangers of heel striking, because the world needs to know.
