Is Forefoot Running Better for Your Knees?

When it comes to injury prevention, forefoot running is better than heel strike running without question. For instance, forefoot running is better on the knees as multiple lines of research indicates forefoot striking naturally mobilizes 2 key mechanical outputs (increased knee flexion and ankle plantarflexion), which were found to have a large effect on reducing the patellofemoral movements that cause runner’s knee.
