What is a Forefoot Strike

A forefoot strike involves strike the ground on the balls of the foot (which is the forefoot), not high up on the toes. A proper forefoot strike should also be a lower strike angle of the foot with the ground, then the heel lowers to the ground. The reason this is the most functional way to use your feet while running is because the initial contact area of the foot is larger, making you more balanced and is a more effective way to disperse impact more evenly over the foot. And, these are just a small part of the reasons that forefoot running is better than heel strike running at every level.
