Forefoot Running is Better for Higher Arches than Heel Strike Running

High arches are known to be very poor shock absorbers during running. Foot strike pattern, however, can have a strong influence on impact generation in runners with higher arches. For instance, forefoot running fits perfectly into the role of injury prevention for high-arched and even low-arched runners because there’s little to no harmful impacts on the entire foot as compared with heel strike running.
