One advantage forefoot running may have over heel strike running is that it make prevent hyper pronation as there may be less pronatory effort needed at the foot for stability and impact attenuation. This is because the mechanical components of forefoot striking when running results in an interaction of the foot with the ground that is so brief that certain forms of impact forces and mechanical entanglements are not full produced like they are in heel strike running. BSc Neurobiology; MSc Biomechanics candidate, ultra minimalist runner & founder of RunForefoot. I was a heel striker, always injured. I was inspired by the great Tirunesh Dibaba to try forefoot running. Now, I'm injury free. This is why I launched Run Forefoot, to advocate the health & performance benefits of forefoot running and to raise awareness on the dangers of heel striking, because the world needs to know.
