In a minimalist running shoe, the lack of heel cushioning makes it easier for the foot to set up to properly strike on the forefoot. Plus, the heightened ground-feel from the thin sole elicits faster responses in better forefoot strike control, higher cadence and a reduced stride length, all of which are protective against so many negative injurious outcomes.
