A forefoot strike landing pattern during running is when initial ground-contact is made on the balls of the foot, just ahead of the arch. Its VERY important to underscore that the very first part of the forefoot to make initial contact with the ground is on the outer-side, or lateral edge of the forefoot just under the 5th and 4th toe.
