Runners who run with a heel strike (above left) are at a large risk for impact-induced bone and muscle injuries than forefoot runners (above right). Forefoot running has minimal impact by naturally engaging additional mechanical components for low impact and enhances spring loading in the arch and Achilles, which in turn, dramatically enhances running economy.
