Unlike thick cushioned running shoes, running in minimalist shoes are better for improving running form, getting you to avoid a high-impact heel strike, and instead, helps you properly strike on your forefoot (landing on the balls of your foot, not high up on your toes). This is because the thin, flat sole significantly increases your feel of the ground which does a better job at engaging reflexive interactions that quickly align your entire body mechanics in proper order, contributing to a shorter stride, less ground-contact time, stronger foot-step stability, while improving foot health more generally. The net effect of this is less impact, better balance and faster turnover when running, and your foot will become more physically resilient. Read more here!
