Why Forefoot Running is Better for Your Legs than Heel Strike Running

One of the big reasons forefoot running is better than heel strike running is it was found to bring full resolve to a painful lower leg condition known as chronic exertional compartment syndrome (CECS). CECS is only caused by heel strike running, whereas forefoot running improves the positioning of initial foot strike position and the upper body, resulting in a full avoidance of the impact variables directly involved in CECS. "I believe the forefoot strike is the engine of endurance running..."

BSc Neurobiology; MSc Biomechanics candidate, ultra minimalist runner & founder of RunForefoot. I was a heel striker, always injured. I was inspired by the great Tirunesh Dibaba to try forefoot running. Now, I'm injury free. This is why I launched Run Forefoot, to advocate the health & performance benefits of forefoot running and to raise awareness on the dangers of heel striking, because the world needs to know.
